Sean McConnell
Manager, Project Manager
Meet Sean McConnell.
A former baseball coach, Sean McConnell knows that most teams talk about culture — a lot. He has a heart to take it one step further and equip leaders to stop simply talking about culture and begin building and living into the culture they hope to see, one that leads to excellence. As culture-building goes, Sean counts storytelling a key component in bringing people together. He sees a well-crafted story as the precursor to authentic connection and connection as foundational to leadership. Sean says you can't lead people you don't feel connected to.
With an educational background in both psychology and theology, Sean believes project management doesn’t mean treating people like a resource to be used. Instead, Sean leverages his years of experience in the non-profit arena to take a connected, human-centered approach to project management, working toward solutions that best fit both the needs of guests and the long-term well-being of the contributors. In his role as a Project Management Coordinator with WinShape Teams, Sean leads project teams and promotes agile practices and methods in the organization, embedding agile values and mind-sets to foster more effective, transparent and cohesive teams. These efforts also enable better outcomes, solutions, products and services for guests.
Outside of work, Sean loves spending time with his wife and two children, especially when that quality time can be spent around his first love of baseball. Sean’s claim to fame? Comedian Donald Glover once told Sean that Sean was the funniest person Glover had ever met outside of professional comedy.
