About Team Avaya: Adventure Racing Team

Team Avaya is made up of four (4) adventure racing athletes: Fleur Pawsey, Stu Lynch, Chris Forne, and Nathan Fa’avae.

Led by ECO Challenge winner and world-renowned adventure athlete, Nathan Fa’avae, the team is known as New Zealand’s most successful Adventure Racing Team.

Fa’avae and his team have won six (6) of the last seven (7) World Championships, distinguishing them as the sport’s frontrunners.

Most recently, Team New Zealand, captained by Nathan Fa’avae, won the World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji, which is now available to watch on Amazon Prime.

The Difference Between a Good vs. Great Team

The world of Adventure Racing naturally pushes people to their limits in challenging, dynamic environments. Teams are tested: physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Adventure Racing emphasizes teamwork over individual achievement, which makes it an exemplar of great teamsmanship in action.

Team Avaya is, no doubt, a GREAT team.

They climbed the highest point of the Indian Ocean in just 4 hours of a 100-hour race. They were the first to cross the finish line, making them the 2018 World Championship Adventure Racing Team for the 6th time in (7) years.

Their success is the result of a high-performing team.

In our documentary, For The Team, we uncover Team Avaya’s secrets to success.

Our film captures the humility of Fleur Pawsey’s understated courage, Nathan Fa’avae’s captivating leadership style, and the team’s practice of not quitting when things get rough.

Team Avaya’s racers were willing to go to those hard places, and even hurt For The Team. That’s the difference between a good team and a GREAT team.
